Restoration for Runners
To be the best runner you can be, optimal postural patterns are essential. Keeping yourself aligned and out of compensatory patterns is absolutely necessary for preventing injuries or for recovering from a running injury.
Breathing Restoration
Dr. Derya has extensive training via the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI). PRI is a holistic approach that focuses on the need to establish appropriate breathing patterns so that the rest of your body can:
- Be more balanced and aligned
- Move without pain
Balance and Gait Training
Older adults are at much higher risk for serious injury, loss of independence, or even death following a fall.
Improving your balance and optimizing your walking are complementary skills, and both are necessary components of reducing your risk for falls.
Orthopedic Therapy for Active Adults
Let’s face it, our bodies change as we get older. That nagging knee or low back pain may start to limit what you want to do, or maybe it doesn’t limit you, but you wish it would go away because it’s annoying! And wouldn’t it be great if you could do something about your pain without having to endure any surgeries or procedures?
Restorative Yoga
This deeply nourishing, restorative practice uses gentle yoga poses that create spine balance and lengthening. This series of postures helps the body open and release long standing tensions in a safe and supported way.
